About TechLinkss
TechLinkss is a free, web-based URL unshortener. Our goal is simple: when somebody sends you a short link, you should be able to find out where it really leads — instantly, on a normal web page, without installing anything.
What we do
You paste a shortened URL (anything from bit.ly and t.co to YouTube’s youtu.be or LinkedIn’s lnkd.in). On our servers we send a single HTTP request to that URL and follow every redirect, recording each hop and its status code. When the destination page finally responds, we read the public HTML metadata — page title, meta description, and Open Graph image — and present everything on a clean result page that you can share.
What we don’t do
- We don’t execute JavaScript on the destination page; you only ever see what is in the public HTML response.
- We don’t require an account, e-mail address, or any personal information to use the service.
- We don’t expose any public API. Every analysis happens on the website itself.
- We don’t share or sell information about the URLs you submit.
Why a per-link page?
Each analysis becomes a permanent, shareable page at /u/<id>. That makes the result trivially easy to send to a colleague, embed in a Slack channel or attach to a moderation report. You also get a stable URL you can revisit if you ever need to recheck the destination.
Who runs it
TechLinkss is built and maintained by an independent web developer. The site is funded by a small amount of advertising; we don’t accept payment to influence how a particular link is presented or to remove a result from the index.
